It was widely reported that he transferred from UConn due to his desire to play small forward, although he rebuffed that theory in an interview with Hearst Connecticut back in December.
Smith ended up as a four-man at UNLV, and it looks like he??ll play power forward in the NBA, too. Since he lacks the skills to play wing, it would have been beneficial for him to return to school for some fine-tuning.
Smith could go undrafted. At best, he looks like a second rounder.
